Mark G. C. Lawrence
New Jersey, 1997
U.S. District Court District of New Jersey, 1997
U.S. Court of Appeals 3rd Circuit, 2008
Mark C. G. Lawrence was one of the founding partners of at Lawrence and Gerges and was certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney. Mark lost his battle with an aggressive form of cancer in February of 2018; but his legacy and unique approach to the practice of law continues to the be the model used at Lawrence and Gerges.
Mark had an incredible ability to understand not only the legal and practical aspects of a case but also the technical issues reserved for experts in their respective fields. This skill puts him significantly further ahead of his adversaries, especially when it it came to cross-examining experts at the time of trial. Mark did not limit his practice of law or trial strategy to customary and conventional techniques but found new ways to present each case and had huge success doing so.
Mark graduated from Rutgers Law School in 1997, where he was awarded the Myron S. Harkavy Scholarship in 1996 for being the student showing the most promise as a trial lawyer. He lived up to that reputation twenty years later by having litigated over 50 jury trials and having won several verdicts and settlements over $1 Million each for his clients. Mark argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, and the New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division.
Mark was not afraid to take risks whether it be in litigating difficult cases or getting behind the wheel of his rally race car.
